about mr. norris
Background
My full name is Justin Edmond Douglas Norris. I am a World Literature teacher at Sanger High. I am thirty-four years young. I've lived in Fresno my entire life, and despite what most people say, I love it here. I went to Central high school and graduated from Fresno State with my Bachelor's degree in English Education in 2011. I also received my teaching credential from Fresno State in 2012. I started long-term subbing at Sanger high school during the spring of 2013, then I was hired as a full-time teacher in August of the same year.
Passions/interests
I love to write. I've written two novels. I also love to write and perform music. One of my biggest passions is acting. I am active on YouTube where I create my own comedy sketches, vlogs, and audiobooks. I also have a web series called SOST (Scares of Student Teaching), where I create videos with advice and guidance for those who are pursuing a career in education. In July 2017, I published my very first novel titled, Orcaseye. I had been working on writing it since 2007, and I'm very proud of it! If anyone is interested in checking it out, click the image below! I also published a second novel that takes place in the same universe, called Orcaseye Skylines, which is included in the sophomore curriculum!

Mr. Norris' Mission
My ultimate goal as an educator and a head coach is to watch my students walk out of my door as a better person from when they'd walked in. I will do everything in my power to teach them about the importance of respect for others and laughter when it's most needed. We will explore many important messages from authors all over the world, and dive into in-depth discussions about texts that call into question the wonder that is human nature. Students will become better readers, writers, and public speakers - all beneficial and necessary attributes which define a successful person.
